Our goal is to help parents, friends and children with life changing and threatening illnesses and children with special needs. Our desire is to bring abundant life and hope to these families
You may be asking yourself, "What is this ministry about?" We are here for medically challenged and special needs children and their families. This includes those children with cystic fibrosis, those who are autistic or have seizures and any other medical disease or syndromes. They are so brave and go through so much and we are here to offer prayer and uplift one another according to the Word of God. We provide activities for these children and their families throughout the year.
The When Are We Going Home Ministry is continuing to meet and serve the needs of children in Dallas, Ellis and Navarro County who have medical challenges or special needs as well as their families. The ministry continues providing music and creative ministries for the children and their siblings. Our highlights this year included a spring talent show, kite flying and a Luau Party. The ministry has also incorporated an equine ministry for the 2009 year. The ministry continues to provide meal tickets to those families whose children are hospitalized and gifts at Christmas for the children. All the ministry functions are free for ages 0 through 21.
We have an annual Cheryl Dunn Christmas Concert. Trophies are awarded to the children for their courage in overcoming the difficulties they have had during the year. This is a huge highlight for the children each year as Cheryl flies in from Canada for this concert and sings for them. It also serves as a small fundraiser for the Ministry itself. The ministry has also incorporated a music group called Spirit Sent (the children) , which is a group that will travel and sing at Churches to help bring in mission donations to help our finances that continue to increase as the number of families served increases. We are again recognized by the Combined Federal Campaign of North Central Texas United Way and receive a small monetary supplement from them as well as their endorsement.
Hidden Miracles is another great special needs ministry for families affected by disability. They offer a monthly respite night and a special needs Children’s Church class. They operate out of the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie Texas. For more information visit their website at www.hiddenmiraclesministry.org
